Here’s What to Do When Your Furnace Won’t Ignite
We are making our way through the last few weeks of winter but we still are relying on our furnaces, especially during cool nights. Not much is worse than going to bed at night and realizing your furnace won’t kick on. If you find yourself in this situation, here are a couple things you can check yourself before calling Service Experts Heating, Air Conditioning & Plumbing.
Check Air Filters
You should replace standard air filters every 30 days. If you do not, they can become clogged, blocking air flow and causing your furnace to malfunction.
Check Your Thermostat
See if turning the temperature up a few degrees will get the furnace to turn on. If the actual room temperature is higher than the thermostat, the furnace won’t kick on. Also, verify the system switch is on “heat” or “auto.”
Check the Power
It may seem silly, but confirm the power switch next to the heating system is “On.” Even gas heating systems use electricity so confirm the breaker has not tripped and that the power switch wasn’t accidently switched to the “Off” position.
If you review all these things and your heating equipment will still not start up, give Service Experts Heating, Air Conditioning & Plumbing a call at 866-397-3787 and we’ll come out and take care of you as soon as possible.
