Barlow Service Experts in Ogden always tells you about how our technicians are NATE-certified, and while it sounds encouraging, what does it actually mean?
NATE stands for North American Technician Excellence and, as stated on their website, is the nation’s largest certification organization for HVAC (heating, ventilation, air conditioning) and refrigeration technicians. The organization was developed nearly 20 years ago and is supported by the entire HVAC and refrigeration industry but not all technicians in the industry are required to be certified through NATE. The certification is discretionary and technicians can work in the heating, cooling, ventilation, and refrigeration industry without being certified through NATE.
It’s important to Barlow Service Experts that our team is NATE-certified to make sure we are sending the most qualified and skilled technicians into your home. To make sure technicians meet these benchmarks, the NATE-certification assessments validate real-world working knowledge of HVACR systems for technicians. The tests are knowledge-based exams that assess the technician’s knowledge of these subjects.
Since Barlow Service Experts focuses on the HVAC side of NATE-certification and not refrigeration, there are only certain areas applicable to our technicians. NATE test candidates may earn installation and/or service certification in one or more of the talent areas listed below:
- Air Conditioning
- Air Distribution
- Gas Heating
