The NATE-Certification Advantage

March 20, 2018

Service Experts Heating & Air Conditioning takes pride in sending NATE-Certified technicians into customers’ homes across North America every day. While this title of being Nate-Certified definitely sounds reassuring, what does it really mean?

NATE, an abbreviation for North American Technician Excellence, is the nation’s largest non-profit certification organization for heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration technicians. NATE is the certification organization that was established by and has been accepted by the entire HVACR industry for approximately 20 years. But, not all technicians in the field are necessarily NATE-Certified. The certification is non-mandatory and technicians can service heating, cooling, ventilation, and refrigeration equipment without being NATE-Certified.

It’s important to Service Experts that our team is NATE-Certified to make sure we are sending the most experienced technicians into our customers’ homes. To make sure technicians meet these qualifications, the NATE-Certification exams confirm real-world working knowledge of HVAC and refrigeration systems for technicians. The assessments are knowledge-based exams that evaluate the technician’s understanding of these guidelines.

Since Service Experts Heating & Air Conditioning focuses primarily on the HVAC side of NATE-Certification, our technicians achieve their designations in these areas. However, NATE assessment candidates may gain certification in one or more of these areas:

  • Air Conditioning
  • Air Distribution
  • Gas Heating
  • Oil Heating
  • Heat Pumps
  • Hydronic Gas (service only)
  • Hydronics Oil (service only)
  • Light Commercial Refrigeration (service only)
  • Commercial Refrigeration (service only)
  • Ground Source Heat Pump Loop Installer
  • Senior HVAC Efficiency Analyst

You can be confident that the technicians at Service Experts are highly effiecient and professional and will do the job right from the start. Our company has the ability and skill set to not only fix your HVAC systems, but to take the ultimate care of your equipment.
