Service Experts Donates Over 300 Pounds of Food to Minnie's Food Pantry Published on August 20, 2016 The Service Experts Heating and Air Conditioning Corporate Office in Plano, TX was excited to contribute 324 pounds of food to Minnie’s Food Pantry, also located in Plano. “Last year, I had the ability to get a group of people to volunteer at Minnie’s and it was an unbelievable experience,” said Amanda Wilson, Operations Specialist for Service Experts. “They go above and beyond providing food – they are a crucial part of this community.” Minnie’s Food Pantry was created by Cheryl Jackson as a way to honor her mother, Minnie Hawthorne-Ewing D.D., who spent much of her childhood wondering if and where she would get her next meal. Not only does Minnie’s provide free healthy meals to families in need, they also hold classes to teach families how to utilize the food they get to cook healthy, long-lasting meals. They also offer resume aid along with financial and job classes to help families get back on their feet. Because around 50 pounds of food is given to each family to last them a month, Service Experts was able to feed six families for the month. “Each member of the team was so thrilled that we had this food drive for them, and they even took us around their amazing facility,” Wilson said.
