Happy Birthday to the Leaplings Published on February 28, 2016 2016 is a notable year. We will watch the presidency of our first African-American president come to a close. The people of the United States will vote in a new Leader of the Free World. We may have even watched Peyton Manning’s final game. The most joyous part? The “Leaplings” will celebrate their birthday on their day of birth! Hurray! That special date that only comes around every four years – February 29th – has returned to give Leap Year babies a real celebration. In honor of this unique day, here are a few exceptional people who share this particular birthday: Alex Rocco Alessandro Federico Petricone, Jr., likely known to you as Alex Rocco, played Moe Green in the classic movie The Godfather. A couple more movies you may recognize him from are The Wedding Planner and That Thing You Do! Pope Paul III Pope Paul III, born Alessandro Farnese, was the conclusion of the Renaissance popes and the first of the Counter-Reformation. He adored artwork and even commissioned Michelangelo to paint the Last Judgment for the Sistine Chapel. Adolph Blaine Charles David Earl Frederick Gerald Hubert Irvin John Kenneth Lloyd Martin Nero Oliver Paul Quincy Randolph Sherman Thomas Uncas Victor William Xerxes Yancey Zeus Wolfeschlegelsteinhausenberdorft, Sr. Did you get all that? Did you observe all 26 names creating the alphabet as initials? Did you also observe that it concludes with “Senior?” Yes, this hilarious father gave the same marathon name to his son, who, according to hearsay, learned how to pronounce his complete name by the young age of three. Also, there is some debate on the spelling (and length) of the last name. One source had it written as Wolfeschlegelsteinhausenbergerdorffwelchevoralternwarengewissenhaftschaferswessenschafewarenwohlgepflegeundsorgfaltigkeitbeschutzenvorangreifendurchihrraubgierigfeindewelchevoralternzwolfhunderttausendjahresvorandieerscheinenvonderersteerdemenschderraumschiffgenachtmittungsteinundsiebeniridiumelektrischmotorsgebrauchlichtalsseinursprungvonkraftgestartseinlangefahrthinzwischensternartigraumaufdersuchennachbarschaftdersternwelchegehabtbewohnbarplanetenkreisedrehensichundwohinderneuerassevonverstandigmenschlichkeitkonntefortpflanzenundsicherfreuenanlebenslanglichfreudeundruhemitnichteinfurchtvorangreifenvorandererintelligentgeschopfsvonhinzwischensternartigraum. Seriously, we can’t make this up. The Henriksen Siblings Crazy, right? Not only one, not just two, but three siblings were born on successive Leap Days in 1960 (Heidi), 1964 (Olav), and 1968 (Leif-Martin). Could you deal with having to share your birthday, let alone with your sibling? Sorry ‘boutcha Henriksens. Peter Scanavino If you aren’t aware of Peter Scanavino then you need to turn on USA and catch yourself a Law & Order: Special Victims Unit marathon. You won’t be sorry and you’ll get to meet Dominick ‘Sonny’ Carisi, Jr., played by Leapling Peter Scanavino. On Wednesday nights you can sometimes see him on the Chicago P.D. crossovers, another show you should probably check out. So this year, Leap Year babies, don’t trouble yourself with whether you should celebrate your special day on February 28th or March 1st, celebrate on your true birthday. And, Happy Birthday from everyone here at Barlow Service Experts Heating & Air Conditioning!
