We are constantly willing to help, but we recommend these four simple tips to review your furnace before giving us a call:

  • Thermostat setting – The most significant task of a furnace is to create a comfy and cozy climate for your home. So when the weather begins snowing for good, make sure you’ve changed your thermostat over to ‘heat.’
  • Furnace switch – Your furnace power is moderated by a switch that looks like a normal light switch, and should be turned on. If it’s not on, flip it on and hold a few minutes. Many furnaces have a built-in time delay and your furnace won’t turn on immediately after flipping on the switch.
  • Filter – Furnace filters are an important part to your system. Not only does it filter out particles, dust and other contaminants, it impacts your furnace’s talent as well. We recommend changing out filters every three months to notice the finest results.
  • Circuit breaker – It’s common that the breaker labled for your furnace has been tripped. Go to your circuit breaker panel and look to see if the switch has been tripped. If it has, cycle it by turning it off and then back on. You may have to wait a few minutes for the time-delay to pass before your furnace starts back on. If you do this and your furnace still isn’t starting, give us a call and we can help figure out what is happening with your furnace so we can get it back up and running.
